Dear Valued 5x5 Member,

We’re excited to announce the 5x5 Data Cooperative release for October, with fresh data, increased validation signals, new features, and updates to seniority, department, and Universal Person modeling.

Standardized Titles & Country Codes

• seniority_level2 and department2: Updated classifications from the job_title, discussed in detail below.  
  
• job_title_normalized: This is a standardized, normalized job title, enabling platforms to improve customer experience by reducing the number of variations of a job title, e.g.:  Chief Executive Officer instead of CEO, C.E.O., Chief Exec Ofc, etc.
  
• company_country: ISO 31660-1 alpha-2 country codes for the HQ location of the company.
  
• contact_country:  ISO 31660-1 alpha-2 country codes for the personal address of the person.  The current contact datasets will only include contacts for the United States.

All new features will be added to the bottom (end) of the contact files, with no change to the existing order of the data elements.

Additional Contact File Improvements

Improved B2B2C linkage accuracy

Tweaks to the Universal Personal model have improved the linkage accuracy between b2b and b2c helping improve personal email to b2b profile resolution accuracy.

B2B Contact Fill Rate

Incorporating fresh, observed data from the growing network of Cooperative members, we are proud to report a:

• 10% increase in LinkedIn to B2B Email linkage
• 7% increase in LinkedIns
• 10% increase in job title validation fill rate

Seniority & Department Modeling Update

The October Seniority and Department release provides a significant update to our classification modeling process. The categories for each have been updated to provide better resolution and precision for targeting, be compliant with the latest industry standards, and be compatible with the latest LinkedIn classification. Additional information, plus the definitions, counts, and fill rates, may be found here.

• The new "DEPARTMENT_2" and "SENIORITY_LEVEL_2" fields will be added at the end of the existing B2B and Universal Person schemas for the Oct, Nov, and Dec releases.
• The current "DEPARTMENT" and "SENIORITY_LEVEL" fields will remain as they are through the December 2024 release.
• The new categories will replace the old categories in the January 2025 release, leaving only the original "SENIORITY_LEVEL" and "DEPARTMENT" fields, with the new classifications listed below.
• A crosswalk file between the old and new SENIORITY_LEVEL and DEPARTMENT classes is available upon request.

Looking Ahead: November Release

We’ve been listening! The November 5x5 release is focused on resolving key pain points raised by our members. We’re dedicating great effort to improving the underlying data and linkages as part of our response and will detail the specific enhancements next month. In addition, we are planning to launch:

• Universal Person 3.0 - This version represents a complete model refresh with additional feature dimensionality, providing increased precision across all files and linkages.
• A significant increase in job title and validation freshness - Using the latest observed job title and company linkages.
• Accelerated data contribution efforts - 5x5 has the largest data acquisition pipeline it has had since founding the co-op. Large amounts of fresh fill-rate improving data will be ingested in November and December.  
• New Product:  HR contact file - Providing specific features to power HR platforms.  Contact Steve Perks for additional information.
