We're thrilled to bring you the latest updates from the 5x5 Data Cooperative. In this month's edition, we highlight mobile validation improvements and preview major upgrades coming in September.

Mobile Phone Validation

5x5 is raising the bar on data quality for mobile and direct numbers! Our August release incorporates over 27 million mobile phone validation signals linked to our Universal Person IDs. They’ve been validated by a human or through telecom data, allowing us to identify and eliminate nearly 900k dead or inactive mobile and direct numbers. With this new process, 5x5 will continue to add validation signals and focus on mobile and direct phone validation moving forward.

The 5x5 team is excited to announce the release of our new Mobile Phone Validation product for beta testing. Similar to Email Validation, this file contains every mobile phone number collected by 5x5, along with any validation signals, making it extremely useful in cleaning up existing data.

Looking Ahead: Future Development

These updates are anticipated as part of the September 2024 release but are subject to change.

1. New Feature → Normalized Job Title

Job titles are often self-reported and notoriously diverse, making it difficult and time-consuming to use them for audience creation. To combat these disparities, our team has created a new Normalized Job Title field, which:

• Corrects spelling errors
• Standardizes titles into accepted formats
• Normalizes similar titles into a common title

This feature will be an addition to the Universal Person and B2B Contact products.

2. New Model → Universal Person

The forthcoming 2.3.0 Universal Person model demonstrates 5x5’s continuous work to increase the precision and coverage of our key identifier. Full details of the improvement in precision and scope will be revealed in next month’s release notes!  

3. Model Updates → Seniority & Departmental

5x5 is updating the models for Seniority and Department classifications. This enhancement will provide the latest industry-standard definitions for Seniority and Department while using more sophisticated model approaches than previously available. Combined with the new Normalized Job Titles, this will complete a full update of the Job Title, Department, and Seniority features!
