What's New: April Release Notes
This month's release continues our focus on enhancing data accuracy and expanding coverage. Key updates include:
2.0 Version of Best Record Selection
We've launched version 2.0 of our "best record" selection model.
This is a long term initiative for 5x5, and this month focused on improving the selection of business email, LinkedIn URL, and company domain/name.
For example, if there are three business emails associated with a contact, our model is now even better at determining the most recent and current email, further improving the freshness and accuracy of our data.
Core Feature Improvement
Building on our commitment to core data enhancements, we've increased the quality and fill rate of gender data. We updated all genders with a determination from our name gender database. As a result, 27,800,627 genders were updated and counts increased by 6.3%.
Enhanced Company Data Validation
We've implemented a new validation process for company names and domains, resulting in a 15% improvement in accuracy for firmographic data across Business Contacts and Firmographic data sets.
This means you can rely on our company data for more precise segmentation and analysis.
Roadmap Update: Q2 Progress & Steps
Over the last quarter, we’ve dedicated additional time, resources, and structure towards our roadmap planning so that we can better serve member needs. As a result, we’re excited to share an updated 3-month roadmap, highlighting the key projects we’re focusing on for Q2.
Highlighting a few items on the roadmap below:
→ Improving Net Worth & Income Data: Similar to the gender improvements in April, we are investing in improving net worth and income fields.
→ NCOA Validation & CASS Standardization: We’re enhancing address quality through NCOA validation and CASS standardization to increase deliverability and power downstream use cases like data matching and identity resolution. This initiative will standardize and validate professional, personal, and company address fields.
National Change of Address (NCOA) is a USPS service that keeps address data current by identifying individuals and businesses that have moved within 48 months.
Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) standardization ensures all address data aligns with the USPS Coding Accuracy Support System.
→ Increase Validation of Contact Data: We are committed to making continued progress on the overall validation of contact data, focus in Q2 will include mobile phone and email validation.
→ Continued Improvement to Person Model: We remain focused on continuously improving our Person and Best Record model. In Q2, we’ll be expanding those efforts to include additional fields such as first/ last name, address, emails, company, etc. driving enhanced contact accuracy and higher data fill rates across the board.
→ Suppressing Data Noise: Minimizing data noise remains a core focus to elevate overall data quality and model performance. By deprecating outdated signals, we reduce clutter in the model’s input stream allowing for more precise, signal-driven outcomes.
Data noise, such as bot traffic, outdated events, inaccurate data, etc. pollutes models and impacts downstream performance. In contrast, data signals are high-value linkages/behavioral patterns that reliably correlate with real-world outcomes like purchase intent or engagement.
Bottom-line: Less noise = better performance across every layer of your models and data
These efforts align with our commitment to transforming consensus data into confirmation data and providing tiered data solutions that meet our members' diverse needs.
